Species Translation Challenge - Awards

Although the main reason for participating in sbv IMPROVER is to be part of a community of eminent scientists that drive the advancement of systems biology, there are however other reasons, why you should participate in the Species Translation challenge:

  • Receive an independent assessment of your methods
  • Gain access to high quality data
  • Sub-challenges 1, 2 and 3:
Research grants:

Take the opportunity to receive a grant worth US$20’000, that will be awarded to the best performing team of each sub-challenge 1, 2, and 3.

Visibility and recognition:

Enhance your visibility and gain recognition from an international team of eminent scientists. The results of the challenge and the identity of the sub-challenge’s best performing entrants will be announced in a high impact journal.

Publication:

Be invited to co-author one or a series of articles to be submitted to an academic journal, if you are identified as the best or second best performing team.

Travel bursary to the sbv IMPROVER Symposium 2013:

Receive a reimbursement of expenses for your travel to the sbv IMPROVER Symposium 2013, if you are identified as the best or second best performing team. This may be used for up to five people and for a total value of up to US$2’500. The bursary may be used for actual expenses incurred for plane/train travel and accommodation, and is subject to restrictions.

Presentation at the sbv IMPROVER Symposium 2013:

 

Be invited to present your approach at the sbv IMPROVER Symposium 2013 if you are identified as the best or second best performing team.

 

 

  •  Sub-challenge 4: the five best performing teams will:
Travel bursary to the sbv IMPROVER Symposium 2013: Receive reimbursement of expenses for your travel to the sbv IMPROVER Symposium 2013. This may be used for up to five people and for a total value of up to US$2’500. The bursary may be used for actual expenses incurred for plane/train travel and accommodation, and is subject to restrictions.
Visibility and recognition: Participate in a workshop at the symposium which will enhance your visibility and gain recognition from an international team of eminent scientists. The results of the challenge and the identity of the sub-challenge’s best performing entrants will be announced in a high impact journal.
Publication: Be invited to co-author one or a series of articles to be submitted to an academic journal
